So this week-end the little guy and I assembled the Sith Infiltrator LEGO set that he got for his fourth birthday (which was last week). We have had that set in the closet for close to a year, having gotten it at about %50 off. Which is quite the steal, really …
The little guy was pretty excited about it since he likes Darth Maul quite a bit. We started watching Star Wars a couple of months ago (we’re at The Clone War).
Overall it’s a pretty nice looking set which IMHO have a couple of flaws:
Darth Maul’s speeder break apart easily and doesn’t sit all that well inside the cargo hold (or whatever that is called)
The cargo hold doesn’t have any built-in way to stay closed so it will open when the vessel is being played with (I had to hack some way to keep it shut)
The cockpit is pretty narrow and putting Darth Maul in it can be a little tricky (especially for little hands)
The probe droids included in the set are disappointing (just composed of 2 pieces)
While the little guy can follows the instructions sheets pretty well, since this is, for his age, a big set (479 pieces), I had to do most of it as it is still difficult for him to stay focused on a task for more than a few minutes at a time.
