So this week-end the little guy and I assembled the Sith Infiltrator LEGO set that he got for his fourth birthday (which was last week). We have had that set in the closet for close to a year, having gotten it at about %50 off. Which is quite the steal, really …
The little guy was pretty excited about it since he likes Darth Maul quite a bit. We started watching Star Wars a couple of months ago (we’re at The Clone War).
Overall it’s a pretty nice looking set which IMHO have a couple of flaws:
- Darth Maul’s speeder break apart easily and doesn’t sit all that well inside the cargo hold (or whatever that is called)
- The cargo hold doesn’t have any built-in way to stay closed so it will open when the vessel is being played with (I had to hack some way to keep it shut)
- The cockpit is pretty narrow and putting Darth Maul in it can be a little tricky (especially for little hands)
- The probe droids included in the set are disappointing (just composed of 2 pieces)
While the little guy can follows the instructions sheets pretty well, since this is, for his age, a big set (479 pieces), I had to do most of it as it is still difficult for him to stay focused on a task for more than a few minutes at a time.
