Today, the little guy crashed into a bookshelf at daycare. As the result, he’s got two nice “battle wounds” on his face. The daycare staff was obviously a little embarrassed when we showed up to pick him up. They had us sign some documents that was stating what has happened. Not sure why this had to be so formal, it’s not the first time that he had hurt himself (I lost count …) and of all his previous incidents this was relatively minor.
I may sounds careless writing about it this way, but I’m just trying to be realistic. He’s bound to hurt himself over the course of his childhood, that’s just the way things are. We’re just here to avoid the really REALLY nasty injuries.
I was told that just like him, I was quite the stuntman in my early years, falling from anything I could stand on. Some examples include:
- Countless chairs
- My own foots (Countless time)
In fact I’ve got a nice scare under my bottom lip to prove it (that’s from the bench incident). True be told, even at 36 I’m still crashing often, I’m a bit of a clumsy kind of guy I guess (unless it’s when I’m being hit by cars while cycling: 5 times so far).
What doesn’t kill you make you stronger eh?
